Hamilton Released Booking Photo Records
A booking photograph is an image created or maintained with an arrest and booking record. Adult booking photographs held by a Texas sheriff can be requested under Government Code Chapter 552, but there is no honest rule that every image must always be released. An active investigation, §552.108, juvenile confidentiality, privacy, a court order, expunction, or nondisclosure may affect access. Ask for the image linked to a precise booking rather than requesting every photograph for a name.
Online publication and record retention are different. A jail may remove a photo when booking-out occurs while retaining the source record under its schedule. Texas State Library schedules place mugshots among offense-investigation records with retention that varies by offense. A removed web image therefore proves neither destruction nor legal sealing. The custodian's written response is the reliable access decision.
A photo documents appearance at a booking. It does not establish the final case result, current custody, or release method. Pair it with the Hamilton court order and the actual holding jail's release entry when those facts matter.
Hamilton Release Photo Channels
Hamilton defendants can be housed outside the county, so the agency holding the photograph may differ from the court handling the case. Check each channel within its actual scope.
| Channel | Has a photo? | Access path |
|---|---|---|
| Hamilton Sheriff roster or app | No official roster, gallery, or inmate app was found. | Use a written Chapter 552 request. |
| Actual holding jail | May maintain the booking image; online display varies. | Ask Bosque, Lampasas, or the custodian named by Hamilton. |
| TDCJ | Some public contexts may show state identification imagery; no image is promised. | Use the official offender system. The free email channel excludes photographs. |
| Texas registry | Color image only for a person with a Chapter 62 duty. | Search the official DPS registry and verify identity. |
| IVSS-Counties | Not an official photo archive. | Use for offered event notices, then confirm with the custodian. |
| BOP and ICE locators | Not general booking-photo archives. | Use them for custody status, not image discovery. |
| News or third-party pages | May carry a dated image. | Treat only as a lead; verify source, date, and identity. |
Do not treat a sex-offender registry image as a universal post-release mugshot source. The registry applies only to people with a qualifying duty and does not prove an exact release date. DPS says fingerprint verification is the positive way to link a person to a record.
No Hamilton Mugshot App
The official Hamilton Sheriff page has no inmate search, recent-release list, photo gallery, or identified mobile app. Apps associated with other places named Hamilton are not Texas sources. No HomeWAV or similar communications app should be represented as a Hamilton release-photo service.
Ask Hamilton which jail physically booked the person. Official dockets have named Bosque and Lampasas custody, with other current dockets mentioning Comanche, Mills, and Bell. Then ask that custodian whether its current roster shows a photo, whether display ends at booking-out, and whether the underlying image remains requestable. A current roster cannot replace the same-day Hamilton release record.
Request a Hamilton Booking Photo
The Texas Attorney General's request instructions explain that a public-information request should be written and sent to the governmental body holding the record. For Hamilton custody, that may require one request to Hamilton Sheriff and another to the physical jail.
The source reinforces why a narrow, written request works better than a general question. Ask for existing material and identify the booking.
- Confirm the physical custodian with Hamilton Sheriff. Record the full name, booking date, date of birth, and booking number when known.
- Request the booking photograph tied to that booking, plus the jail-register entry and booking-out record so the image is not separated from its context.
- Ask for electronic delivery and an estimate before costs exceed $40. Texas permits reasonable reproduction charges.
- If the photograph is withheld, ask for the exact statutory exception and any Attorney General ruling number. Request segregable public fields.
- Compare the result with the Hamilton clerk's filed order. The Hamilton release-record process identifies the proper clerk by case type.
Texas requires prompt production as soon as possible within a reasonable time. Ten business days is not a universal delivery deadline. A one-booking request reduces ambiguity, search work, and the chance of receiving another person's image.
Request the photograph from both Hamilton and the physical custodian when ownership is unclear. Hamilton may maintain the jurisdictional arrest and transport trail, while the outside jail may have created the image during intake. Identify the precise booking in each request. If one office refers the request elsewhere, ask whether it holds any copy or related record rather than assuming the referral resolves every part of the request.
A denial or redaction should be read narrowly. Section 552.108 may protect information tied to a qualifying active investigation, and §552.101 can incorporate confidentiality found in other law. Juvenile provisions and court orders may also control. Ask for the cited exception, any Attorney General ruling, and all segregable information that can be released. The public status of basic arrest facts does not automatically settle access to the photograph.
Unofficial Hamilton Mugshot Copies
News reports and unofficial aggregators may retain an image after an agency removes it from a live display. Such a copy proves only that the image appeared in that dated context. It may be stale, mislabeled, tied to a namesake, or inconsistent with a later expunction or nondisclosure order. Verify the image against the originating office and booking identifier.
No commercial mugshot publisher or removal vendor is endorsed or linked. Paying a removal service does not correct the government record. When an official order changes public access, give the order to the source that controls the copy and request action under the law that applies to that source.
Hamilton Mugshot Removal Orders
Texas expunction law is now in Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 55A. Eligibility depends on the case facts; release alone creates no right to expunction. A final order generally restricts maintenance, release, dissemination, or use of records within its scope. Do not reconstruct an expunged photograph from caches. Nondisclosure under Government Code Chapter 411 is different: records continue to exist for criminal-justice agencies and other authorized recipients while public disclosure is restricted.
Business and Commerce Code Chapter 109 regulates covered private publishers of criminal-record information, including certain removal fees and dissemination after qualifying orders or notices. Government Code §552.1425 provides consequences for some dissemination affected by expunction or nondisclosure. These laws are not a blanket command that every sheriff or news organization erase every lawful record.
Send a certified or filed order to the agency or publisher controlling the image and identify the exact URL or booking. Ask for written confirmation. An unexplained disappearance can reflect an order, a publication choice, migration, or error; it does not establish which one occurred.
Verify Hamilton Photo Context
Match the name, date of birth, booking number, arrest date, facility, and case before relying on an image. Hamilton's County Clerk maintains Class A and B misdemeanor matters and Class C appeals. The District Clerk handles felony district cases. A docket label is a pointer; obtain the actual judgment, dismissal, bond, or other order for the legal result.
- Booking photo
- An image tied to intake, not proof of guilt or current status.
- Expunction
- A court-ordered process that can restrict records within the order's scope.
- Nondisclosure
- A limit on public disclosure that does not erase all agency access.
- Release record
- The custodian's entry showing when and how facility custody ended.
A TDCJ image belongs to the state-custody record and should not be used as the image for an unrelated Hamilton county booking. Likewise, a dated press photograph cannot prove the person remains in custody or has been released.
Hamilton Booking Photo Retention
Texas retention rules classify mugshots within offense-investigation records, with minimum periods that vary by the offense category. The release and transfer packet follows a different schedule, and the permanent jail register follows another. Ask for each record by name because one retention rule does not answer whether every related item remains available.
A pending public-information request, litigation hold, or other legal need can prevent scheduled destruction. Conversely, retention does not guarantee unrestricted public disclosure. The custodian must still apply confidentiality law, court orders, expunction, nondisclosure, and any valid law-enforcement exception. Website removal is only a publication decision unless the agency confirms a different reason.
