Hamilton County Same-Day Release Records
The Hamilton County Sheriff page publishes no official roster, 24-hour release view, release-window selector, mobile inmate app, or update schedule. An empty result from an unrelated site cannot fill that gap. Sites for Hamilton County in Ohio or Tennessee concern different jurisdictions. In Texas, Hamilton defendants may be housed in Bosque, Lampasas, Comanche, Mills, or Bell County. The correct same-day check is therefore tied to the person and physical jail, not to a nonexistent countywide feed.
Call Hamilton Sheriff at 254-386-8120 and ask which county held the person and whether a Hamilton booking or intake number is available. Then call that jail. Ask whether booking-out is complete, the recorded date and time, release or transfer code, destination, and authorizing order or agency. A signed bond or release order creates authority to leave, but identity checks, holds, property processing, transportation, or another agency pickup may delay the physical exit.
Check Hamilton County 24-Hour Releases
Define the period before contacting an office. “Last 24 hours” may mean a rolling interval ending now or a calendar day from midnight to midnight. State the start, end, and Central Time zone. Also say whether transfers should be included. The Texas Public Information Act requires access to existing records; it does not require an agency to create a new daily report or calculate a custom statistic.
- Start with Hamilton Sheriff. Supply the full name, approximate arrest date, date of birth or booking number, and ask for the physical custodian.

Quote an unfamiliar code and ask the custodian for its definition or code legend. “Released” may only mean released by that facility. “Bonded” does not end the criminal case, and “time served” does not rule out another hold.
Request Hamilton County Release Entries
When staff will confirm only present custody, send a narrow written request under Texas Government Code Chapter 552. Ask Hamilton for the jail-register entry and the actual custodian for the booking-in and booking-out sheet, release or transfer time, code, destination, release authority, and booking photograph if maintained. Electronic delivery is usually the simplest format. Ask for an estimate before costs exceed $40 because Government Code §552.2615 requires an itemized estimate above that amount.
Texas requires prompt production within a reasonable time. The familiar ten-business-day rule generally concerns an agency seeking an Attorney General decision to withhold information, not a universal delivery deadline. If information is withheld, ask for the precise exception and any ruling number. A request for one identified booking is generally clearer than a request that staff compile a countywide list.
Texas IVSS-Counties can send a release or transfer notice if the participating custodian supplies data, but Hamilton participation must be checked live. The service is a notification layer, not the official record. TDCJ covers state prisoners and is at least 24 hours old. Neither is a substitute for a county booking-out entry. Hamilton Release or Custody Transfer
A current roster, where one exists at the holding jail, answers who is displayed in that facility now. It is not a history. A released person may disappear immediately, while an internal update may lag. Hamilton has no official roster at all, so absence carries even less meaning. The physical custodian's completed booking-out record is the strongest local proof that the person left that building.
- Community release
- The person leaves the facility on bond, time served, sentence completion, dismissal, or another recorded authority, subject to any conditions.
- Transfer
- One facility ends custody because another jail, TDCJ, USMS, or ICE receives the person.
- Parole
- State-prison confinement ends and supervised release begins. It is not the same as county probation.
- Discharge
- A sentence reaches its governing endpoint. Use the agency's exact status and date.
The court order explains legal authority, but its signing time may precede the booking-out time. Preserve both. A release record should answer who released the person, to whom, when, and under what authority.
Permanent Hamilton Release History
Hamilton's lack of a short-lived feed does not erase the historical record. The Texas State Library retention schedule classifies the county jail register under PS4200-06a as permanent. The register includes the release or transfer date. Booking, commitment, transport, transfer, and release material under PS4200-10 must generally remain for at least two years after release or transfer.
The durable register is often more useful than a transient list. Request the maintained entry rather than asking staff to recreate a daily feed. Pair it with the holding jail's precise time and destination because Hamilton's jurisdictional record and another county's physical record may describe different layers of the same event.
Getting Home After Hamilton Release
Hamilton County's official home page lists Central Texas Rural Transit District and CARR assistance at 800-710-2277. The source does not establish a jail pickup plan, discharge stop, fare, route, or schedule. A released person or family member can call ahead to ask whether a trip from the actual holding county is possible, but the jail should not be described as arranging transport.
Location matters because release may occur in Meridian, Lampasas, or another county rather than at the Hamilton sheriff office. Confirm the exit site and estimated processing completion with the custodian before arranging a ride. If the record says transfer, transportation is an agency movement and not a trip home.
Hamilton Bond Orders and Release Time
Hamilton court dockets use surety, cash, and personal-recognizance bond labels. The Hamilton County Clerk maintains misdemeanor cases and links court access. A bond order explains why release is authorized, but it is not proof that booking-out has finished. Another hold, verification step, property processing, or pickup can intervene.
Compare the filed order with the holding jail timestamp. Describe the result as release pending the case, not dismissal or final disposition.
