Hamilton County Released Inmate Records
Hamilton County has a sheriff's office but no official online jail roster or release feed. Current Hamilton court dockets show defendants housed in Bosque, Lampasas, Comanche, Mills, and Bell County. “Hamilton County Jail” can therefore describe the jurisdictional booking trail rather than the building holding the person. Hamilton Sheriff should identify the physical custodian and booking number. That jail's booking-out entry proves the facility event; Hamilton's register and criminal case preserve the county trail.
Release from a facility is not always release from all custody. Bond, time served, sentence completion, dismissal, or probation may return a person to the community. A transfer, writ return, TDCJ commitment, other-county warrant, ICE detainer, or USMS pickup moves custody instead. Record the destination. Parole ends state-prison confinement but begins supervision, while ordinary probation, called community supervision in Texas law, is imposed by a court and may involve no TDCJ term.
- Time served
- The sentence credited at that facility may end, subject to other holds.
- Parole
- Conditional release from state prison under TDCJ supervision.
- Probation
- Court-ordered community supervision, distinct from parole.
- Discharge
- The sentence reaches its governing endpoint under the agency's record.
Hamilton County Release Types
Use the exact code recorded by the custodian and ask for its definition when unclear. A broad label can conceal an important custody change.
| Type | Meaning | Next record |
|---|---|---|
| Surety, cash, or personal bond | Release pending the Hamilton case, not final disposition. | Holding-jail timestamp and clerk's bond order. |
| Time served or sentence complete | The governing county term ends, subject to other holds. | Judgment, jail credit, and booking-out entry. |
| Probation | The court imposes community supervision. | Hamilton judgment and CSCD order. |
| Parole or mandatory supervision | TDCJ prison confinement ends under supervision. | TDCJ release record and Temple DPO. |
| Transfer | Another jail or agency receives the person. | Destination field and receiving-custodian record. |
| Dismissal | The filed case ends as ordered; actual exit still needs proof. | Filed dismissal and booking-out time. |
A signed order can precede physical release. Identity checks, holds, property processing, transport, or agency pickup may intervene. Keep the order time and jail time as separate facts.
Hamilton County Release Record Fields
A strong release record identifies the person and booking, when custody ended at that facility, why the departure was authorized, and where the person went. Reconcile three layers: the holding jail's operational record, Hamilton's permanent register, and the filed court record.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name and identifiers | Links the correct person, booking, and case. |
| Facility and agency | Names the physical custodian ending custody. |
| Release date and time | Records the actual facility endpoint. |
| Release or transfer code | States bond, time served, transfer, parole, discharge, or another mechanism. |
| Authority | Names the court order, sentence calculation, or receiving agency. |
| Destination | Separates community exit from continued custody. |
| Supervision | Shows parole or community supervision when officially recorded. |
Obtain Hamilton County Release Records
Send a narrow written request under Texas Government Code Chapter 552 to Hamilton Sheriff and, when different, the physical holding jail. Identify the full name, approximate booking date, birth date, and booking number. Ask for existing records rather than an explanation or newly created report.
- Request the jail-register entry, booking-in and booking-out sheet, actual date and time, code, destination, release authority, and booking photo if maintained.
- Ask for electronic delivery and an estimate before costs exceed $40. Section 552.2615 requires an itemized estimate above that amount.
- Contact the right clerk for the filed order. County Clerk covers Class A and B misdemeanors and Class C appeals; District Clerk covers felony district matters.
- If material is withheld, ask for the exact exception and Attorney General ruling number, plus all segregable public fields.

Texas requires prompt production within a reasonable time. Ten business days is not a universal delivery deadline. The permanent jail register survives short online display windows, while release and transfer packets generally remain at least two years after the event.
Hamilton Release Record Law
Government Code Chapter 552 controls public information held by Texas agencies, but not every field is public. Active-investigation interests, juvenile confidentiality, privacy, court orders, expunction, and nondisclosure can restrict access. Section 552.108(c) generally preserves basic arrest information even when qualifying law-enforcement material is withheld, though a photograph is not automatically part of that minimum set.
Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 55A governs expunction. Release alone does not establish eligibility. Nondisclosure under Government Code Chapter 411 restricts public access while allowing access by criminal-justice agencies and other authorized recipients. A missing result may reflect an order, migration, or error and cannot prove the event never occurred.
Retention and disclosure answer separate questions. A record can still exist even when an exception limits what the public receives. It can also remain in an agency file after removal from an online display. Hamilton's permanent jail register preserves the basic jurisdictional trail, while the holding jail may retain the detailed booking-out packet. A pending request, audit, or lawsuit can also prevent scheduled destruction. Ask each office which maintained record contains the needed field instead of assuming that removal from a web page ended the official record.
Judicial case records follow the clerk's records process. Hamilton District Clerk distinguishes requests for filed court documents from administrative public-information requests. Use the case number, document name, and filing date when known. For a precise legal result, request the signed order or judgment rather than relying on a portal label. If a public copy is restricted, the clerk can identify the governing access process without reconstructing or summarizing the case.
Permanent Hamilton Jail Register
The Texas State Library schedule makes the jail register permanent under PS4200-06a. It includes the release or transfer date. Booking and release packets under PS4200-10 generally remain for at least two years after release or transfer.

This archival path is stronger than a fleeting roster. Ask Hamilton for the maintained entry and the outside jail for the exact time and destination.
Find a Released Hamilton County Inmate
The search path depends on custody type. No single database covers a county-only bond release, TDCJ discharge, federal release, and ICE transfer.
- Call Hamilton Sheriff for the actual holding county and booking number.
- Ask that jail for current custody or its booking-out time, code, and destination. Use the 24-hour release process for same-day events.
- Search the correct Hamilton clerk for the order and disposition.
- Use TDCJ only when the judgment committed the person to state prison. Treat its Projected Release Date as prospective.
- Use BOP for federal history and ICE ODLS for immigration detention. Trace every recorded transfer.
- File written requests when a live search omits the former detainee.
If the holding jail says “released to agency,” ask for the named destination and time. Follow that receiving agency as a new custody event. A county booking-out to TDCJ should be described as a transfer or commitment, not a return to the community. The Hamilton judgment supplies the sentence and jail credit; TDCJ intake later creates the state identifier and offender record. A gap between county disappearance and TDCJ appearance can reflect intake lag, so confirm the destination instead of declaring release.
For a bond expectation, compare three times: the order or posting time, the jail's completed booking-out time, and the time of any follow-up call. The first authorizes release, the second proves exit from that building, and the third dates the observation. Another hold can change the result. If the jail records community release, describe it as release pending the Hamilton case. The later disposition remains a separate court fact.
TDCJ Released Offender Search
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice search covers state prisoners, not routine county detainees who bonded out. Inputs are last name, first name, TDCJ number, SID number, gender, and race; at least one is required. The output may include location, offenses, parole-review information, and Projected Release Date. Data is updated on working days and is at least 24 hours old.

Retry with a TDCJ or SID number when a name fails. The no-charge email channel can supply incarceration history and projected date but no photographs. Neither a future projection nor a parole vote proves actual release.
Hamilton County Recent Releases
No official Hamilton 24-hour or 72-hour feed exists. To recreate a period, state exact timestamps, time zone, and whether transfers are included. Ask for existing release or transfer entries rather than a custom report. A neighboring county roster covers that jail only.
Hamilton Post-Release Supervision
Texas parole and county probation are separate. BPP decides parole; TDCJ Parole Division plans release and supervises state parolees. Hamilton cases are assigned to Temple DPO after state release. Ordinary probation belongs to the Bosque-Comanche-Hamilton CSCD and is verified through the Hamilton judgment and supervision order. See Hamilton parole and probation.
Hamilton Notifications and Federal Releases
Texas replaced VINE with IVSS-Counties in 2025. It can send booking, release, court, death, escape, and transfer notices when the custodian participates, but Hamilton participation must be checked live. Former detainees may disappear, so a notice is a lead, not a certificate.
The BOP locator retains many released results from 1982 forward. “RELEASED” ends BOP custody only and does not rule out supervision or another custodian. ICE ODLS is mainly a current or recent detention locator; a no-result does not prove community release. USMS pretrial custody is best traced through the federal docket and release order.
Hamilton Release Search by Custody
Choose the source that owns the custody event.
| System | Current custody | Release proof |
|---|---|---|
| Hamilton county case | Hamilton Sheriff, then actual holding jail | Booking-out record plus Hamilton register |
| TDCJ state prison | TDCJ locator | TDCJ release confirmation |
| Federal | BOP or federal docket | BOP released result or court record |
| ICE | ODLS and ERO/facility | ICE record plus county transfer entry |
Getting Home After Hamilton Release
Hamilton County's official home lists Central Texas Rural Transit District and CARR assistance at 800-710-2277. No source establishes a jail pickup, fare, stop, or schedule. Call ahead and confirm the actual exit site, which may be in another county. A transfer to an agency is not a ride home.
Hamilton Bond and Booking-Out
Hamilton dockets use surety, cash, and personal-recognizance bond labels. A bond order explains authority but not completed release. Compare it with the physical custodian's timestamp. Describe the event as release pending the case, not dismissal or completion.
Hamilton Clerks and Holding Jails
Misdemeanor and felony trails split between County Clerk and District Clerk, while the 220th Judicial District spans Bosque, Comanche, and Hamilton. The clerk record explains authority; the outside jail proves the physical release. Search by case number and obtain the actual filed document.
Hamilton County Release Facilities
Facility assignment changes by person and date. Hamilton Sheriff identifies the holding county. Bosque and Lampasas are evidenced custodians; Comanche, Mills, and Bell are contingent locations. TDCJ covers state commitments. Federal and immigration custody use separate systems.
- Hamilton County Sheriff's Office: booking-record custodian and first contact.
- Bosque County Jail: evidenced physical holder.
- Lampasas County Jail: evidenced physical holder.
- Other holding jails: confirm the facility named for the person.
- Texas Department of Criminal Justice: state prison and release records.
- Federal releases and immigration releases: system-specific paths.
Prove a Hamilton Release Event
A court docket is a dated snapshot, while a live custody response answers a later moment. When the two seem to conflict, identify what each source was designed to record. A Hamilton docket may say a defendant was in Bosque County Jail when the docket was prepared. Bosque may later confirm a booking-out event. Both statements can be correct. Preserve each source date instead of treating one as an error.
Obtain the actual filed document when the legal label matters. Useful records include a bond order, dismissal, judgment, sentence, jail-time credit, community-supervision order, TDCJ commitment, capias, revocation order, mandate, or discharge-related order. A portal event label points toward the document but may not express every condition. The filed order explains authority. The jail entry establishes operational completion.
Hamilton's Tyler portal covers local misdemeanor access, while re:SearchTX provides an e-file-derived statewide path with uneven coverage. Older paper records, restricted documents, or items not supplied by the clerk may be absent. A no-result is not a conclusive statewide criminal-history finding. Return to the Hamilton clerk responsible for the case.
Match Hamilton Release Identities
Start with the booking or intake number whenever possible. A full name alone can connect records from different people. Compare date of birth, arrest date, court case, physical jail, TDCJ or SID number, and destination before combining sources. If spelling is uncertain, search name variants only as leads and ask the custodian to confirm the identifier.
TDCJ absence cannot certify a county release because many Hamilton defendants never enter state prison. IVSS absence also cannot certify release because the current portal warns that people no longer in custody may not appear. An ICE no-result can reflect spelling, lag, transfer, age, or privacy limits. The most reliable chain begins with the agency that had physical control and follows the recorded destination.
Record the exact status language. “Projected Release Date” is not “actual release.” “IN TRANSIT” in a federal result is not community release. “Parole review” is not approval, and a favorable vote may require a future date or program completion. Precise labels prevent a search result from being stretched beyond what the originating agency states.
